Note : If the candidate is eligible and wishes to apply for more than one area, he/she has to submit the application and application fee for the respective areas separately.

• Age limit :
  28 years as on 17.04.2014. Age relaxation is applicable to SC / ST / Persons with disability (PWD) category as per Government of India Orders.
• Educational Qualification & Eligibility :
  B.E. / B.Tech. / M.Sc. / M.S. or equivalent degree mentioned above should be in first class with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 out of 10. A valid score in GATE / JEST / UGC NET in relevant area as the case may be, as specified in above is essential.

Fee structure per semester for M.Tech. / M.S. programme :

• Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
• Applications received online only will be considered for processing under any circumstances.
• The applicant will not be allowed to make any changes in the profile registration once submitted. Hence utmost care should be taken by the candidate while filling the profile.
• SC/ST/OBC (Non- Creamy Layer)/Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates shall upload the relevant certificate before the prescribed date.
• Applications in respect of SC/ST/OBC/PWD will be processed only after the receipt of the above proof online. In other words, non-submission of proof online will lead to rejection of application.
• Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/PWD is applicable as per Govt. of India Orders.
• Application fee is to the extent of Rs. 600/- per programme (for SC, ST, PWD and women candidates Rs. 300/- per programme).
• The application fee is non-refundable.
• The applicants who are shortlisted for M.Tech. / M.S. programmes are required to appear for a written test / Interview as the case may be.
• No TA/DA is admissible for written test/interview. The shortlisted candidates are advised to make their own arrangements for travelling and lodging for attending written test/interview in Thiruvananthapuram.
• List of shortlisted candidates will be displayed in IIST website. Shortlisted candidates may download call letter from the website on or after May 08, 2014.
• Candidates who are expected to complete the degree course in the academic year 2013-2014 are also eligible to apply provided the degree certificate (At least provisional degree certificate) is produced on the day of written test/interview.
• Selected candidates will be given scholarship as per AICTE norms.
• Candidates who are employed in Government/Semi Government/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies need to produce a “No Objection Certificate(NOC)” at the time of Interview.
• The M.Tech. / M.S. students will be required to assist the Departments in academic activities as and when required.

Post-Graduate courses commenced from the academic year 2010-11. Currenlty, M.Tech. and M.S. programmes are offered in 14 select areas relevant to ISRO programme.
